Last night, the boys’ soccer had their season to come to an end with a 1-0 loss at Upper Arlington.  After giving up an early goal, the defense held strong, keeping UA off the board the rest of the way but the team could not capitalize on several scoring chances.  Armando Mendez played a great game in net.  Thank you to all the players for their hard work this year in making another successful season for the team.

We will be starting TOMORROW and would like for all of you to help us to reach our goal of collecting over 100 pounds of pop tabs! If you would like to help this cause, you can drop any pop tabs you have off with teachers who have a designated container or bring them into the school store. If any teachers would like to join in collecting, make sure to talk to Mr. Peters or Mr. Kramer for information. The class that brings in the most pop tabs will be rewarded with a breakfast party in your homeroom class.

Today is National Dictionary Day! National Dictionary Day was created in honor of Noah Webster’s birthday (October 16, 1758) and was set aside as a day to emphasize the importance of learning and using dictionary skills and increasing one’s vocabulary. Webster is considered the Father of the American Dictionary. In 1807 Webster began compiling an expanded and fully comprehensive dictionary, An American Dictionary of the English Language; it took twenty-seven years to complete. To evaluate the etymology of words, Webster learned twenty-six languages!
