Tomorrow is election day! Make yourself aware of important local issues if you are old enough to vote. If not, stay informed for when you are! 


Do you like to write? Do you like history? Want to win $10,000? Submit an essay to the Profile in Courage Essay Contest. Your essay must describe and analyze an act of political courage by any US elected official who served during or after 1917. For more information, see Mrs. Young in the library. Submissions are due January 4.


Attention Student Council members! There next student council meeting will be after school on Wednesday, November 15. We will plan our Winter Service Project. See Mr. Cherup or Mrs. Dufresne if you know you are unable to attend.

Get a ticket to see the fall play. Testing Testing takes a look at high school and the comedy and drama behind taking tests.  Tickets go on sale Friday for $3.00.  The performance will be Thursday, November 9th during first and second periods. Get your ticket today. Only students in good standing may purchase a ticket. As a reminder, good standing means students must have no suspensions this year, no failing grades in any classes, and no more than 10 absences or tardies of any kind.


In need of a book to read? a book to keep? Stop by the library and take one of our FREE BOOKS! The free books are located in the library quiet study area at the front corner of the library.


Attn: Juniors & Seniors – Columbus State is getting ready for Visit Days at both Columbus and Delaware campuses. All juniors & seniors are invited. On this visit you can learn about transfer options to their 4-year partners, discover how to avoid college debt, meet faculty and take a campus tour! The visit dates are Fri. Oct 20, Fri. November is Native American Heritage month. Be sure to read the signs around school, especially on the Cultural Diversity Board across from the ERC, to learn more about the original Americans.


Like writing poetry? Want to win $500? Participate in the Scholastic Publishing Student Poetry Contest. You may submit entries of no less than 2 lines and no more than 20, in any form other than concrete or blackout. See Mrs. Young in the library for more information on how to submit.


Attention class of 2020- your class is holding a t-shirt contest. Please submit all t-shirt design ideas to Mrs. Vonderhaar in room 905 by November 11.



ATTENTION ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS – the 2017 season awards banquet is Monday night November 6th starting at 6:30pm in the auditorium.  Be there with family and teammates to receive your awards. Please be on time and dress nicely.
