Today for lunch you may choose from an Italian sub, sriracha chicken with rice, or a cheeseburger. The side for today is Green Beans.


The first Cultural Diversity Club meeting will be this Friday, September 14. We will meet in room 504 at 3:30 PM. Returning and new members are all welcome.


If you are interested in joining a group that will help you get community service hours and obtain scholarships come to the Key Club meeting on Thursday.  The Key Club meeting will meet in room 303 at 3:30 on Thursday.


Hey Freshman! Are you interested in running for class office?  If so, pick up an application in the Student Office and return it to Mrs. Frase or Ms. Tramontana by  Wednesday September 19th!


Are you interested in helping plan the fall pep rally? Are you creative? Want to be more involved in school activities? If so, join the Pep Rally Committee! There will be a short half hour meeting after school THIS Thursday in room 501. Snacks will be provided!


Attention all Sophomores!!  Class officer nomination forms are available from Mrs. Shore (the guidance counselor) in the student office or from Mr. Eckard in room 801.  Completed nomination forms are due back to Mrs. Shore by Thursday, September 13th at the end of the day.  Voting will take place On Thursday, September 20th.


Hey Seniors!  Do you want to be more involved with making decisions for the senior class?  Do you have great ideas on end-of-the-school year activities?  Are you interested in running for the Class of 2019 President, Vice-President, or Secretary?  Petitions to become a senior class officer are available in the student office.  The deadline to have the petition turned is September 21.  Voting will take place soon after!  See Mrs. Hibbitt or Ms. Dillon for more information!


Attention! Attention! Voting for homecoming begins Friday 9/7 and runs until Friday 9/14! Ballots were sent to your student email account. You may only vote once and only vote according to your graduation cohort. Don’t forget to vote for staff king and queen, too!


The first French club will be held on Tuesday, 9/18! French club is in room 901 right after school until 4:15. Please come join us for ice cream and fun!


The Westland In The Know Team will be meeting TOMORROW morning, September 11th, in room 403 at 7:30 AM.  Any student who appreciates Jeopardy-like trivia questions and wants to be on TV should come.  See Mr. VanDyne in rooms 403 or 504 throughout the day with any questions.

Attention all Jr’s! The class of 2020 is in need of class officers, please pick up a form in the student office and turn it in to Mrs Vonderhaar or Mr. Medich by September 21. This is a prom year so we need your help in planning an excellent Jr /Sr prom!




WHS Gymnastics – Open gyms start Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Gotta Flip Gym and will continue every Wednesday at the same time through the end of September. Season starts November 2018 so get signed up now. Stop in the Student Office and get a flier or stop by the Athletic Office for more information.


Any boy, currently not playing a fall sport and is interested in playing baseball this season, is encouraged to come to lifting in the rec center today and Tuesday from 4:30-6.


On Saturday the Cross Country teams ran through a giant 3 mile mud pit at Watkins Memorial. The weather didn’t slow down the Cougars as they had a very strong showing. The Boys team, paced by newcomer Jacob Carpenter and Senior Billy Holland place 10th out of 20 teams. While the Girls team had an individual medalist in Aja Nathans, who finished 12th in a field of nearly 300 runners. The XC team will compete at the Galion XC festival on Saturday.


Boys’ Basketball study tables are CANCELLED for Monday, September 10 only. They will continue Wednesday, September 12 from 3:30-4:30 and run Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 through October.

Conditioning is Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 5:30 in the Rec and Saturday from 6 AM to 7:30 AM in the Rec.

Open Gym is Wednesday, September 12 from 7 PM to 8:30 PM in the gym.


Until October MONDAY-Thursday only
