Today for lunch you may choose from a personal pan pizza or top n go super nachos with tostitos and the side for today is golden corn.

 

Attention Student Council Members and those wishing to join- the next meeting is Monday, September 17 after school. We will be deciding on spirit week and creating things for homecoming. Snacks will be provided. The meeting in is 709 until 4:15. See you there.

 

If you are interested in joining a group that will help you get community service hours and obtain scholarships come to the Key Club meeting on Thursday.  The Key Club meeting will meet in room 303 at 3:30 tomorrow.

 

Hey Freshman! Are you interested in running for class office?  If so, pick up an application in the Student Office and return it to Mrs. Frase or Ms. Tramontana by  Wednesday September 19th!

 

Latinx Space for Enrichment and Research has OSU students coming in every Monday from 12:00-1:30pm, room 807 to help out with FASFA, college/scholarship applications, and resume building!

 

Are you interested in helping plan the fall pep rally? Are you creative? Want to be more involved in school activities? If so, join the Pep Rally Committee! There will be a short half hour meeting after school TODAY in room 501. Snacks will be provided!

 

Attention all Sophomores!!  Class officer nomination forms are available from Mrs. Shore (the guidance counselor) in the student office or from Mr. Eckard in room 801.  Completed nomination forms are due back to Mrs. Shore TODAY at the end of the day.  Voting will take place On Thursday, September 20th.

 

Hey Seniors!  Do you want to be more involved with making decisions for the senior class?  Do you have great ideas on end-of-the-school year activities?  Are you interested in running for the Class of 2019 President, Vice-President, or Secretary?  Petitions to become a senior class officer are available in the student office.  The deadline to have the petition turned is September 21.  Voting will take place soon after!  See Mrs. Hibbitt or Ms. Dillon for more information!

 

Hey all creative Cougars! Pencil Dust, Westland’s creative arts magazine, will be meeting next Wednesday after school in room 706. If you are interested in writing poetry, short stories, songs, drawing comics, painting, or taking photos or anything in between make sure you are there next week!

 

Do you like to play games? There are games and cards in the mezz in the lunch room that you can play!

 

Time is running out to vote for homecoming king, queen, and court. Cast your ballots with the link sent to your school email last week on Friday. Vote for a male and female in your grade by TOMORROW!!

 

The first French club will be held on Tuesday, 9/18! French club is in room 901 right after school until 4:15. Please come join us for ice cream and fun!

 

Attention all Jr’s! The class of 2020 is in need of class officers, please pick up a form in the student office and turn it in to Mrs Vonderhaar or Mr. Medich by September 21. This is a prom year so we need your help in planning an excellent Jr /Sr prom!

 

Hey Cougars! Your favorite club is back! Anime Club will have its first meeting next Tuesday morning in Room 706. Come on down if you like talking about or watching anime. Talk to Mr. Spooner for more details.

 

SPORTS

WHS Gymnastics – Open gyms start Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Gotta Flip Gym and will continue every Wednesday at the same time through the end of September. Season starts November 2018 so get signed up now. Stop in the Student Office and get a flier or stop by the Athletic Office for more information.

 

Congratulations to the Ladies JV Volleyball team for their win in 2 over Marion Hardin last night! Great job #LCV!

 

Wrestling Lifting is after school M-Thur until 5:30 in the rec. Any questions? See the coach Mr. Allerding for more details.

 

Girls’ Soccer would like to express its gratitude to a community member that has found ways to donate food not only to our team, but also to many other teams at WHS. Thank you, Shelly, from Lincoln Village WG Grinders! You will help us play hard against Marysville tonight! Go Cougars!
