Today for lunch you may choose from Breaded Mozzarella sticks or chicken and waffles with a side of steamed broccoli and cheese sauce.

 

Attention students! The pep rally is TODAY! Start time is 2:30. If you have lockout, please come and enjoy the homecoming festivities! Face painting will be available at lunch.

 

TODAY at lunch is THE LAST TIME to buy tickets for homecoming.

Attention Juniors & Seniors: The following Universities will be visiting Westland next week:

Mon, Oct 8 – Bowling Green State University & Wittenberg University

Tues, Oct 9 – Virginia Tech

Thurs, Oct 11 – Marshall University

 

If you are interested in visiting with a rep from any of these universities, you must sign up in Naviance. If you need help with Naviance see Mrs. Williams in the student office or email @ marcia.williams@swcsd.us

 

The Annual College Fair for our district is on Monday, October 8th at Central Crossing HS.  Free admission and open to the public.  Over 100 colleges and universities will be there giving out information and answering questions.  Time is 6-8pm.  You should go!

 

Hey creative cougars! Each month for the rest of the year, Pencil Dust, our school’s creative arts magazine, will be asking for submissions based on a theme. Since it’s October, our theme this month is spooky stories. Whether it’s stories about monsters, ghosts, or things that scare you in the night, we would love to see your best ideas. Please bring all submissions to Mr. Spooner.

 

Attention college bound students – The PSAT is now for sale at the activity window during your lunch periods. This is a great way to practice for your college entrance exams. Juniors – this test is especially important for you as it can qualify you for National Merit Scholarship consideration. The test is Wednesday October 10th in the gym. The cost is $16. If you have free or reduced lunch you can qualify for a fee waiver. We have 100 tests and 62 fee waivers. Once they are gone they’re gone. So sign up today

 

 

SPORTS

Attention all track athletes.  Coach Eckard is still in need of 5-7 athletes to help work concessions at this Friday’s home football game.  The sign-up sheet is outside of room 801.  Coach will pay you $25.00 towards your pay to play if you work this night.

 

Tomorrow, your lady cougar soccer team takes on Whitehall-Yearling @12pm for our Senior Day. Please come out and support the team! Roar!

 

Congratulations to the boys’ soccer program for earning two wins last night at home vs. Lancaster.  The JV started things off with a 2-0 win on goals from Abdalle Ali and Noah Fryman while Omar Campa earned the shutout in goal.

The varsity followed things up with a 4-1 win on senior night in front of a great crowd.  Pepe Martinez scored 3 goals while Bawi Lian scored 1.  Mesiah Bawi had 2 assists, while Dalmar Ali and Van Dam each had an assist.  Trent Beach played a solid game in net.

The team would like to thank all those who came out and supported the seniors and the team last night.  Come out on Tuesday to see us play at Central Crossing as we hope to give them the L on their senior night!
